The Handwritten Letter Challenge

Well, I recently took part in the 10 tasks in 10 days challenge. While I didn’t complete all 10 items on my list this challenge helped me get a lot of projects done I probably wouldn’t have finished last week if I hadn’t tried this task. Posts like this help me slow down and get things done that others times I am just “too busy” to get to. Well I found another great inspiring post today that I am going to start working on tonight as well.

HERE is her challenge:
When was the last time you hand wrote a letter, addressed & stamped the envelope and sent it to someone special? The last time I did that was a few weeks ago when I sent my friend, Nicole, a note and a little gift. I can’t remember the last time before that though.
I text message… a lot! I email friends when something is too long to text. I also comment on facebook posts but I hardly ever take a few minutes to send a note to a friend. Sad! I truly appreciate all my friends and I know that if I received a handwritten note from any of them it would make my day… so why don’t I take the time to do the same for them? I could say that my days are pretty busy… which is totally true… but really there are a lot of wasted moments in my day as well.
So here is my challenge…
To send 20 handwritten letters in the next 20 days.
Feel free to join me! This is a fun challenge that will be sure to make all the recipients feel real special. I can’t wait to hear how one of my letters added a little sunshine to a loved ones day 🙂

I send handwritten letters all the time! I LOVE stationary. When I was young, I was discouraged from using a stationary set I got and to keep it for a "special occasion." So I hoarded stationary my whole life until about two years ago. It's stationary! Meant to be used! So I buy pretty stationary and I use it. 🙂

There is really nothing better than a handwritten letter. They are so much more personal and meaningful than email. I know that when my husband is deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan we always send handwritten letters to one another on top of emails and phone calls when he is able. The letters he sent back our daughter and I when he first left for basic years ago were a lifesaver and really helped us get through such a hard time as he left only a few mos after she was born. I still bring those letter with me every time we get stationed somewhere else lol.

Handwritten letters are such a memory now with all the emails and ecards. Hand written letters can never lose their warmth 🙂

I changed my Wednesday prompt this week. I'm on a weight loss routine and I'm gonna blog about it, sharing my tips and tweaks with all the lovely ladies out there! I would be glad to have you as a part of it 🙂
