As winter is creeping up on us, some faster than others, this is something we should all think about. There is no need to panic in a winter emergency if we all just prepare ourselves.  I’ve been following a very creative and amazing woman, an author or this post about winter preparedness that I have to introduce you all to.  Savvy Practicality is the name of her blog and this link will take you to her winter preparedness post. She is truly an amazing woman and has made posts and video’s on Youtube teaching us how to make everything like the emergency lighting she speaks of in this post to  beautiful ear cuffs that I still haven’t gotten around to making yet or believe it or not your own pool.

I know I should have shared this blog with you all a long time ago. Sad it takes a winter preparedness post for me to do it. I am sorry 🙁 but hey at least I told ya right? 🙂 It’s because I love you all and want to make sure we are all ready for a winter emergency. The only things she doesn’t tell you how to do is come up with some type of electricity free internet so we can keep posting and reading, lol.  I am so glad I read this post as I had not idea such a simple heating source was available. We don’t have a fireplace or wood stove at this time but what she talks about in this post would work PERFECT for us! Anyhow everyone please take  a few minutes and read her post Winter Emergencies are you prepared?

  1. OMG, I was coming over here this morning for the Alexa hop and I thought wow what a coincidence that we posted about the same thing today. THEN, I opened your link and saw all of your comments. It is truly humbling to have such great readers!

If I figure out that electricity free internet you’ll be the first to know I promise! I often wonder how far I should take things and don’t post half of what I really do for fear that it might turn some readers off. (ie: I have a toilet that will never break) Your post inspires me! Have a great Monday!

Ha ha ha. Sorry to throw you off. I am still on my first cup of coffee so I know how that happens. 🙂 Can’t wait to read about your solution for getting on the internet without power, lol. I love reading your blog. You are the inspiring one. I am love reading blogs by such creative people. I wish my brain was wired that way but it’s just not so I am at peace with the fact that I have to steal these great ideas from others, lol. OK, not steal copy…imitation is the biggest compliment of all right. 🙂

      • I definitely don’t consider it stealing, its spreading the knowledge! So many families are hurting financially right now that they need some relief. Doing a lot of small things really adds up over time. LOL I can’t believe you mentioned the homemade pool LMAO. Oh, you wouldn’t believe the hate mail I got over that, but seriously what was I supposed to do, the kids would have killed me if I didn’t get a remedy that day.

I rely on you mommas that network more than you know! I am a social networking failure lol. So I come by and see what you guys are doing and try like heck to keep up. If we keep this up your whole comment section will be taken up, feel free to email me I’d love to chat.
