To be there best, children need to feel loved. But if you and your child speak different love languages, your affection might get lost in translation, affecting the child’s attitude, behavior, and development. Dr. Gary Chapman’s groundbreaking Five Love Languages series has helped millions of couples communicate love more clearly, and Dr. Ross Campbell M.D. has applied the innovative system to children as well. The Five Love Languages of Children gives practical suggestions for learning how your children interpret love and creating a sense of security in which they can thrive.

I read the original book by Dr. Gary Chapman called, “The Five Love Languages” but for some reason I just never thought about it with children. It only makes perfect sense though. EVERYONE has a love language though it pretty hard to figure out in children younger than 5. As I read through the book lightbulbs went off in my head as I figured out the love languages of my children. It makes perfect sense now that I know what it’s all about. I have two children that I know speak the physical touch love language. My three-year-old sucks his two first fingers on his right hand (I know we are trying to break him of it) and he plays with my hair. He has always played with my hair. He wants to be held constantly or holding my hand or what not. Then there is also my youngest daughter. She is always touching me as she walks by or wanting me to rub her belly. Hugs and cuddling mean more to her than any present would ever. My oldest daughter is definitely a words of affirmation girl. She needs to hear positive things all the time. She glows and smiles when she is told she did great or she looks beautiful and things of that nature. My oldest son, 4, is the one I am not sure of yet. There are several different love languages that I think of with him and I am just not sure which one is the strongest yet. I think it may be quality time but I am not sure. He really, really enjoys when his sister, daddy or I play games with him.
Knowing my children’s love language is very important to me. I know that with this information I can help keep their love tanks full and keep them strong and healthy children that are going to succeed, feel accomplished and will live happy fulfilled lives. This book is so affordable that if you are not chosen as the lucky winner I still hope you consider purchasing it. It is marked at $14.99 US dollars but I have seen it going for $9.05/

What a great giveaway! Clif and I read took a course on the five love languages for adults and I covered it on SP a few months ago. It really changed the way we interact with each other. We expanded what we learned to fit in with our parenting as well. Anyone who receives this book will be greatly blessed!
