About the Book:  This book takes right off where the last one ended. Tethered by her impulsive promise to marry Lord John Lemon-the path of least resistance-Alexandria Featherstone sets off toward Iceland in search of her parents with a leaden heart. A glimpse of her guardian, the Duke of St. Easton-the path less traveled by- on Dublin’s shore still haunts her.

Will he come after her? Will he drag her back to London, quelling her mission to rescue her treasure-seeking parents, or might he decide to throw caution to the wind and choose Foy Pour Devoir: “Faith for Duty,” the St. Easton motto. The Featherstone motto Valens et Volens: “Willing and Able,” beats in her heart and thrums through her veins. Will she find her parents and find their love, no matter the cost?

The powerful yet wing-clipped Duke of St. Easton has never known the challenge that has become his life since hearing his wards name. Alexandria Featherstone will be the life or death of him. Only time and God’s plan will reveal just how much this man can endure for the prize of love.

In my opinion:  This book has it all. I really loved reading this book and couldn’t stand to put it down but as a mother of 4 I was forced too. 🙂 This book has: mystery, heart ache,  suspense, despair, a lover’s triangle, finding God, finding hope and finding love.  The story splits off in two directions as Alex is off to Ireland with Lord Lemon and the Duke met with obstacles that drug him in another direction. I loved how Jamie Carie formatted this story with one chapter talking about what is happening with Alexandria’s search for her parents and then the next talks about what the Duke is facing while her search continues and then back again. It kept me on the edge of my seat with her vivid descriptions of the surroundings and events. I just loved all the action in this story with the struggles, fights, injuries, set back, discoveries and the lover’s triangle. There is nothing that this story doesn’t have. I also really enjoyed reading about the Dukes discovery of God and how much he really needs his help as well as Alexandria’s ever-growing love for her God.  The first story in this series The Guardian Duke ended in a cliff-hanger of sorts as does this book but not to the extent of the first book. I CAN”T WAIT to read the next story in this series. Keep up the great work Jamie Carie! You have a new fan as this book clenched it.
