Copy-Kids Review and Giveaway

Because children learn best from other children.

Copy-Kids launched in January 2012 with Copy-Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables.  The age recommendation is 6 months to 5 years. The DVD features twelve 7 minute chapters, one for each of twelve fruits & veggies:  Apples – Avocado – Banana – Bell Pepper – Blueberries – Broccoli – Carrots – Cucumber – Orange – Raspberries – Strawberries – Tomato

Each chapter features children ranging from 9 months to 5-year-old. It’s a simply but revolutionary tool for parents who want their kids to develop a life-long habit of healthy eating.

My first thought….”Darn it, another simple yet great idea I didn’t come up with”. My youngest children are 4 and 3 and just like I said above: kids learn best from other kids. My three-year-old, Ryker, learns so much from his big brother, Ryan.  He copies everything he does: what he says, his dance moves, the faces he makes and more.  My boys are pretty good about eating fruits and vegetables but when it comes to new foods they want to turn up their noses. Some of the veggies on this video I now they claim they don’t like so I thought I would try it out.

I didn’t expect the outcome I received.  I didn’t think my older son, Ryan, would respond to the video because he will be 5 in a month and he is very smart. I thought my younger son, Ryker, would pick it up quickly because he is typically the mocking-bird. Low and behold I was completely WRONG!  Ryan was all over it and Ryker looked at me like I was stupid, lol.  The look on his face told me he knew something was up.  We did get him to try his broccoli like the kids on TV but it was with the flared nostrils us parents all know so well and disgusted look on his face as he choked it down. So obviously broccoli isn’t for Ryker at this point in his life but we will try it again in the future. Ryan, however, discovered a new vegetable that he enjoys like his mommy and sister do. Even though Ryan is the bigger brother; Ryker is often the more independent and “Do it myself” one out of the two so I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised.  I can’t wait to try out a couple more vegetables once they are full-grown in our garden. It may be harder for some of those more independent children out there like my son Ryker but I think this
