Cowgirls N’ Angels is a heartwarming movie that tells the story of Ida, a feisty and rebellious young girl, who has dreams of finding her father, a rodeo rider. While searching for her dad, she connects with the Sweethearts of the Rodeo, a team of young female rodeo riders run by former rodeo star Terence Parker. Recognizing Ida’s innate talent for trick riding, Terence recruits her for their ranks. Accepted wholeheartedly by her new “family,” Ida finds a new passion that redefines her life, and may also help her find the father she’s been searching for.
Ida, herself, will admit she is the farthest thing from a cowgirl or an angel in the beginning of this story. She is being raised by a single mom that is always working or going on dates it seems. Ida seems like a rough and tumble tomboy that is taking care of herself quite often and on occasion getting herself into trouble. The one thing this little girl desires more than anything in the world is to find her daddy. The sweethearts of the rodeo just happen to help her along the way. Ida really finds out who she is as she sets off over the road with the Sweethearts of the rodeo without her mom under Terrance Parkers care riding for the Sweethearts. The movie takes place in Oklahoma so, of course I jumped at the opportunity to review it. Plus the little girl is my daughters age and my daughter has just started riding the end of last year. We sat together and watched this movie and really enjoyed it. We could’ve done without the cowboy’s flirting with the girls part. Like when the one cowboys says something like Darling I can be any name you want me to be…gag me. My daughter rolled her eyes 🙂 Those types of scenes were really rare though and we just loved the ending. We give this movie two thumbs up. It had us crying tears of joy. I definitely recommend this movie. You can watch the movie trailer below or read what others are saying on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
