Homeschooler, Science lovers or future Astronauts listen up!
From Janet Ivey
“For the past decade, science education has been my passion and America’s children have been my inspiration. It is incredible to see how excited children can become about the world around them when the information is presented in an accessible and FUN way. That is the mission of Janet’s Planet, and I look forward to continuing to support better science education in the years to come.”
In My Opinion
I was totally shocked at my son’s reactions. My boys are 4 1/2 and almost 6. They sat on my lap and watched this 37 minute DVD, “Exploring Microgravity” totally enthralled. This DVD is a Regional Emmy Award winner, a Gracie Allen Award winner and a STEMFlorida award winner. Not only is it fun to watch, it’s highly educational and geared towards elementary school age kids! They were glued to the video and we talked about it and they shushed each other so they wouldn’t miss anything. Then we had to watch several parts over and over again because they were laughing so hard and thought it was so funny. Can you imagine getting you kids to watch a 35 minute DVD on Microgravity let alone them laughing and replaying clips over and over again. We LOVE Janet’s Planet and will be spending a lot more time watching her DVD’s and on her website. When learning is fun just imagine the future! Here is a short clip from the video on her YouTube channel. My boys liked this part but it wasn’t one of their favorites but it still drew in their attention. They loved and replayed the parts with Isaac Newton and Galileo and when she experienced Microgravity on board ZeroG! They laughed and laughed about Isaac Newton and called their sister over to watch then replayed over and over again her experience on ZeroG. My 4-year-old asked if he could do that some day and if I would go with him into outer space <3.
