About the Movie
The movie tells the interwoven stories of Luke and Ale’, who marry right after college and move to India to serve as missionaries for Embrace A Village, a ministry that cares for those afflicted with leprosy and their families; aspiring financier Catherine, who joins a prestigious financial institution determined to make an impact on corporate America; Ryder, who lands an impressive job in social media and can’t wait to use the powerful medium for a greater good; and Ethan, seemingly the odd man out, who struggles to find his God-given-purpose and feels sidelined by god.
“What they have all come to learn is that it never really was their time,” Arnold said. “It always was, always is, God’s time.”
Another amazing and powerfully moving production from . This movie has been family approved for all ages from Dove.org and how many movies/shows can say that anymore. I was super excited and taking notes even before the movie even started. I took notes on all the preview movies my daughter and I want to watch: Revelation Road, Meant to Be, Encounter Paradise Lost. Anyhow, back to this movie. It doesn’t take anytime to really get you drawn into this movie and it moves forward at a pretty fast pace. Right away you learn that after their college graduation within one year one of them is gone. My daughter and I were questioning right away who it would be and couldn’t stand the wait. Then when it all happened I was a babbling, crying fool! This was such a tear-jerker and you couldn’t help but feel for the under-dog, Ethan. I found myself saying, “poor Ethan”, several times. This movie takes you through the stages of grief and loss with the characters and I found myself feeling what they were feeling. I was totally absorbed in this movie. Ethan starts off feeling like he has been side-lined and that God has him on the bench. He learns that if that’s where God wants him to be that he just needs to sit their in obedience because that is were he needs to be at that particular time. We all need to learn to trust in God’s timing. This is so much easier to say than do but it is the truth. This is God’s time and each life can have a HUGE impact and make a HUGE difference. Though some of us are here for a shorter time than others our lives each make a difference. The organization Embrace a Village is a real organization that so many aren’t aware of. I didn’t know people still suffered from Leprosy!?!
On Facebook I follow so many children that are fighting childhood cancers. Some have victoriously won the battle or even the entire war while others have gone to God before us. This children even though their lives on Earth may only be for a short time they are making HUGE differences. If you have time you should go and support some of these children in spreading their messages like Praying for Silas as he nears the end of his journey & Keep on Truckin’ Team Jayden who has gone to Heaven but still inspired people daily to pay it forward Jayden style. I will be introducing you to another great cause that a high school senior is doing in the next day or so.
