We had so much fun with this review and can’t wait until we get moved into the new house to play with it some more. We have LOTS of ideas!! For an introduction just check out this video from Chalk City on Youtube.
Chalk City’s Youtube Video
Today was a bit chilly up here in Michigan where we are currently visiting but we took the opportunity to get outside and play to try out this new toy we received to review and shared the fun with my nephew. When we opened the box this is what we found.
On the left you can see the Road Maker tool that holds two pieces of chalk for creating the roads and under all that bubble wrap is all the chalk you can see if the middle picture. It comes with 20 pieces of sidewalk chalk in red, orange and yellow. Underneath you can see the Road Sign Stencils and the Obstacle Course Stencils, there are 3 of each. The road signs are: Stop Sign, Turn Left/Right, and Straight Ahead Stencils and the obstacle course has signs like: jumping jacks, spin around and hop. It also comes with an Activity book you can see on top in the picture on the right that offers a lot of other game ideas and cities to enhance the Chalk City toy experience.
Now it’s time to meet the crew. This is the road maker, Ryan.
Then, of course, you can’t have roads without signs so here are the sign makers. They really get into their work. This is Ryker and my nephew. They like drawing with chalk but this was a new concept of using stencils and they really enjoyed it while concentrating very hard at it.
My pre-teen and I were talking about the endless possibilities. Our new house has plenty of cement and the park is close by too. We are talking about obstacle course tracks in the near future and we looked on the website at www.chalkcity.com at their activity ideas. Maze tag sounds like a lot of fun but I think I will have as much fun if not more creating the mazes (I always liked that sort of thing) and my little guys are really enjoying playing basket ball so we may try to alter the HotShot Basketball game to work with a little kids hoop. I think we are going to be having a lot of fun with this toy. Oh yeah a great thing about it as well is that they didn’t make it some odd size of chalk so you have to continuing buying only their chalk. You can swap out most chalk sticks in their road maker tool as well. I came with a lot of chalk but the only colors were red, orange and yellow but that wasn’t a big deal since we had a bucket full of colors we were able to swap out and use as well.
I have to give this product two thumbs way up and my boys both gave it two thumbs up as well! These toys are available in stores and you can find a store near you with their store locator HERE.
They are part of the social network too so you can follow them.
**I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
