Instead of telling you what the money couple, Scott & Bethany Palmer, say about their book I thought you could just listen to them and watch this video about their book and the 5 money personalities then I will give you my thoughts.
I went ahead and took the Money Personality Profile and it was no surprise to me that I am a Saver and a Security Seeker. I haven’t got my hubby to take this yet. He is currently in the middle of nowhere in TX.
The hidden key to a healthy relationship is not just managing money but understanding how the other approaches money.
When one person is pinching pennies to save money while the other buys everything they want when ever they want to it can cause a great rift or tension in the marriage. As we all know money is the #1 cause for divorce. When couples don’t see eye-to-eye on financial matters it can cause fights and hurt feelings.
In my opinion this book is a must read for all new couples. The first step is super easy. It’s finding out your money personality which can be done in a matter of minutes on their website: Themoneycouple.com. When both people have discovered their money personalities they can see a little bit better how different decisions affect them both differently. You will learn to talk about money together in a comfortable way and end all of the bitter fights and hurt feelings and no more money secrets or lies. I am very excited for my husband to get the chance to read this book and discover his money personality. Money touches everyone in every relationship from the poor to the very wealthy, from those just starting out to those who have been married for 30 years. We all have money fights but this book will help you see how the other person feels and help you talk constructively and not viciously. Stop the hate and learn how to begin with the understanding.
