When I was offered the opportunity to review the VeggieTales video, The Little House That Stood, we jumped on it. My Kids LOVE VeggieTales!
Who would’ve thought a couple of talking vegetables would be such a bit hit? VeggieTales has been helping children discover that God made them special and loves them very much since 1993! This is their newest movie and was just released on March 5, 2013. Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber are an unlikely duo in a world of talking vegetables. The two friends learn about honesty, kindness, and forgiveness together — and Larry always has a silly song to sing.
About the movie: When the Three Little Pigs roll into Cabbageville looking to build some new houses, they meet one builder with a plan and two without a clue! Larry builds with hay, Mr. Lunt with bricks, but only Bob builds his houses on a firm foundation – following the wise plans from the “Master Builder’s Handbook!” Will the Little Piggies make the right choices when it comes to building their houses – and their lives – on solid ground? Find out in this parable that shows kids when they follow God’s blueprints, they can stand strong when the storms come!
Once again my children were totally caught up in the antics that is VeggieTales and laughed their way through while learning about Bible Stories through a fun little video. We really liked the three little pig characters and had a few chuckles at their expense and, of course, were singing and dancing with Larry boy’s fun Happy Toothday song. I don’t like my children watching a lot of television. We actually do our school work in the morning and have unplugged time from 2p.m.-6p.m. on weekdays. When they do get to watch TV, I regulate what they are watching. You can feel assured when your children are watching VeggieTales that not only are they safe watching it but they will be learning about God’s love while they are. I would recommend VeggieTales to anyone that has small children around as a safe, fun and educational program.
