Hugo is a little starfish whose home is at the bottom of the wide ocean. He longs to visit the real world, and one day he decides to go and find it. Hugo’s journey to happiness isn’t quite as straightforward as he hopes though. He is sent to a series of different islands where he is taught important character lessons.
By the end of his journey, Hugo has visited fourteen islands, made many more friends, and, most importantly, learned how to be a better starfish.
‘HUGO THE HAPPY STARFISH – ISLAND ADVENTURES’ is packed with life lessons for kids, showing them the importance of appreciation, patience, tolerance and optimism amongst others. Teaching children life skills can be tricky, but with this exciting book your kids will come across some of the most important lessons there are to be learned. Like Hugo, their journey to the real world will be full of character lessons along the way. In Hugo, children, parents, and educators will discover a lovable and engaging role model with whom they can identify.
In My Opinion
I LOVE Happy Language Kids llc. as you may remember from my previous Hugo the Happy Starfish reviews like: The Secret to Happiness and The Last Bully. This book was no different. It delivered a powerful message, kept my kids totally enthralled and reached them. We discussed what they were saying as we read the book and “they got it”. The understood the lesson that was taught in a powerful and fun way. I asked them so what happens i we say nice things and they told me it can make people feel good. I then asked them what happens though if we let bad words or mean things leave our mouths? They told me you can’t take it back and you can hurt peoples feelings. I LOVE IT! What a wonderful lesson learned and what a fun way to learn it. <3 Once again, Suzy Liebermann, amazing job well done. Thank you for another GREAT story.
They currently have a FREE Teacher Friday event going on and every Friday she is giving away free books to elementary teachers and you can find out more or register for that HERE.
