I was looking forward to this review because I thought this would solve shower time for my kids. I have a 14-year-old daughter and I also have two boys 7 and almost 6 that share a bathroom. The boys take baths a lot but they do take showers sometimes as well and they hate how the shower head sprays down on them. Here’s what I got when I opened the box.
The arched bar is on the left and the soap holder is top left. the end caps are at the bottom and the sticky attachments are above them by the little bag with screws and anchors. The instructions tell you how to install it with and without the screw attachments . I decided we would first try without the screw attachments to see how we like it and then later we can install it with the anchors and screws if we decided to.
The installation is super easy I assembled the bar without the soap holder since we don’t use bar soap anymore. I put on the endcaps and the sticky attachments without peeling off the paper backing. I marked it with a pencil where I wanted it after making sure it would slide up and down all the way with the shower head in place to make sure it will work how I want it to work. Then I simply peeled off the paper backing on the sticky pads and stuck it in place with firm pressure.
A couple hours after installation it was time to try it out. “Hey boys….time for a shower”. They finished watching spy kids and jumped in. After making a couple adjustments to their satisfaction they were set.
This knob on the side of the slide bar loosens and tightens for sliding the shower head either higher or lower and then re-tightening to secure it in place. This feature worked very well for us without any problems. The shower holder on the side also tilts forwards and backwards so you can get t he right angle as well. The only issue we had is that our shower head doesn’t sit in the holder very well. I do wish the shower head holder was a little bigger or that it had a size adjustment option as well. I held the height the sliding fixture in my hand and had to really push the shower head in for it to fit more securely. The shower head in my pictures is a Delta shower head.
I like how it was more like a “kid-size” shower for my boys instead of them trying to deal with adult sized features. It was easier for them to move around in the shower and clean themselves because they could get out of the stream of water easier.
Then shortly after it was sister’s turn. She originally didn’t like it because it sprayed at her face but I showed her how to angle it down more. It was pretty stiff but I think with time it will loosen up some. If it was too loose, however, it wouldn’t hold it in place correctly so no issue there. I think the looks of it are beautiful and it functions well besides the shower head issue. I think this is definitely a win for the boys and it will also come in handy for those that prefer or require a bath stool for showers. You can lower it down so it’s easy to reach and so it sprays at the right height.
