Where has the time gone?

Life got very busy very fast and I ran out of time to do the things I used to enjoy(still enjoy) just haven’t had time for them. I can’t believe how long it’s been since I posted on here. I definitely need to update pictures and the information on my About Page soon!

I graduated nursing school and started working full-time on an Oncology floor in my hospital but that didn’t work out for me and I transferred down to a Cardiac/Pulmonary floor that is also a floor set up to help develop new nurses and let them find the department they feel called to work in. While working on this floor I started back to school and earned my BSN. After a year on that floor, I discovered the Outpatient Infusion Center at my hospital and have been working there for over two years now. I love what I do here and I am currently studying to earn my CRNI, Certified Registered Nursing Infusion, which will just mean I am an expert in my department. After I completed my CRNI, I plan on going back to earn my Master’s degree so I can be an educator one day since this is something I am passionate about.

The kids have changed a little bit since I last posted as well. The oldest turns 29 in a few short weeks and my granddaughter is now 4 years old. The second born is now 21 and will be 22 in February. She doesn’t have much time to fly these days because she is working and going to college. The boys are now 14 and the baby will turn 13 in December. They are both in the middle of their freshman year of high school.

I have so much to tell you all and hope I can keep up with coming on here periodically to give updates and post pictures. I got a new Cricut machine and heat press and I have been creating some awesome gifts over the past couple of years as well. I can’t wait to share them with you as well.

Oh Yeah!! The boys are both black belts in Taekwondo. They tested last December. I don’t know if the test was harder on them or me. Boy that was hard to watch but an amazing accomplishment. No one wants to sit by and watch a bunch of grown-ups fighting their child but they persevered and are now part of the black-belt family at their facility. The youngest was only 12 when he tested so he was to do it all again once he turns 13. He is currently considered a junior black belt and has a white stripe that runs through his black belt.

My hospital decided to make a COVID vaccine mandate and due to that we lost a couple of nurses and then the court made them stop and cancel any suspensions at this point so it has been chaotic, to say the least. We have been crazy busy and I have offered to work extra shifts to help out my coworkers as well as to take care of our patients. Definitely not what I want to be doing, but like I said earlier I love my patients and my department. I know it will be like this at least through the new year.

Speaking of which I am back to work tomorrow so I am going to cut this post short. I look forward to talking to you all again soon.

Happy Thanksgiving!!
